inDemo vs Demostack
Demostack and inDemo answer two different questions. Demostack answers "what does the rep demo on?" — a dedicated copy of your product, separate from production, with data that holds up under a prospect's questions. inDemo answers "who gives the demo?" — nobody, because it runs itself the moment the lead asks.
The short version
Demostack is a demo environment platform. Instead of demoing on production, on a staging box that breaks the week of the QBR, or on a sandbox somebody has to reseed by hand, your team gets a stable working replica of the product with realistic data in it. Reps can adjust what the prospect sees without filing an engineering ticket. It is infrastructure for demos that humans give.
inDemo is the demo. It drives your real application in a live browser session, narrates over voice, answers questions from your docs, and hands the lead the controls when they want to click for themselves. There is no environment to build and nobody to schedule — the lead clicks, and the demo starts.
| inDemo | Demostack | |
|---|---|---|
| What you get | A demo that gives itself, on request | An environment your reps demo on |
| Who presents | An AI rep, live, to every lead at once | Your reps, on scheduled calls |
| What the lead sees | Your real app, driven live in a real browser | A separate working copy of your app |
| Keeping it current | The live app — it shows what shipped this morning | The replica is refreshed on your team's cadence |
| Questions mid-demo | Answered out loud from your docs; unknowns become follow-ups | Answered live by the rep — when there's a rep |
| When it happens | The moment the lead clicks, any hour | When the call is booked |
| Demo data | A staged demo account you control; credentials encrypted, never shown | Data you shape inside the demo environment |
| Setup | Upload a recording of your best demo, approve the drafted script | Stand up the environment, populate and maintain its data |
Where Demostack is the better fit
- Every deal gets a human anyway. In an enterprise motion with long cycles and a rep on every call, the bottleneck isn't demo availability — it's what they demo on. That is exactly the problem Demostack takes on.
- Production is not demoable. When the real app can't be safely shown — regulated data, a tenant you can't fake, a workflow that takes three days to reach an interesting screen — a purpose-built environment is the honest answer, not a workaround.
- Demo data is the thing that keeps breaking. If your demos fail because the numbers look wrong, the seed data drifted, or someone deleted the demo account again, an environment built to stay stable solves a real and recurring cost.
Where inDemo is the better fit
- Leads arrive faster than the calendar. When inbound outruns the reps — or there are no reps yet — the comparison isn't inDemo against Demostack, it's a live demo now against a form and a wait until Thursday.
- Interest peaks off-hours. The lead reading your pricing page at 11pm gets the full voice-guided demo then, not a slot next week when the intent has cooled.
- You'd rather not maintain a second copy of the product. A replica is a thing to keep in sync. Driving the real app means there is nothing to refresh — and nothing to explain when the demo and the product disagree.
These are not mutually exclusive, and for a lot of teams they stack: inDemo demos and qualifies every inbound lead at the moment they ask, and the deals that earn a human get one — on whatever environment your reps demo best on.
Comparing the two demo-environment platforms?
Demostack and Walnut are the two names that come up together most often, and they belong to the same category: tooling that gives human reps better material and a safer place to present it. Neither removes the rep from the demo — that is not what either is for. If your shortlist is those two against each other, the deciding questions are how much per-prospect tailoring your reps do by hand and how much environment maintenance your team can carry. If the shortlist exists because demos aren't happening fast enough, that's a different problem, and it's the one this page is about.
Judge it the honest way
We're biased, so don't take our word for the difference — watch inDemo demo itself. Two minutes in you'll know whether a rep-presented environment was what you needed all along.
Other comparisons
Shortlisting more broadly? The self-serve tour builders are a different category again: Storylane clones your app into a tour the lead clicks alone, Supademo does the same thing fastest and cheapest, Guideflow captures with a browser extension and adds hotspot analytics, and Navattic is the screenshot-tour incumbent. AI demo agents, explained maps all three approaches against each other if you're still deciding which kind of tool you want.
Never miss another lead.
